Last Minute Theater Tickets
My boyfriend and I are big fans of the work of Peter Brook at Theatre des Bouffes du Nord. I tried to get tickets to his current production of "Hamlet", that performs through January 12th, and was told it is sold out. We are considering going to Paris anyway, to see if anyone might be selling their tickets in front of the theatre before showtime, which is common in the U.S. But I started to wonder if the people of Paris follow this practice or not? Or do they just hand them back in to the box office, or just not show up? I´m trying to figure out if there is a way to do this and would appreciate your insights
Dear FrancoFile,
Tickets to the Peter Brook performance of Hamlet are in hot demand and it might be hard to land seats for this. The Bouffes du Nord isn´t very large and it´s doubtful if there will be many cancelations or no shows. But to answer your question, in Paris you check with the box office two hours before the performance, you hang around outside just before the performance.
