Three times a year Patricia Wells, author of "The Food Lover´s Guide to Paris" and longtime restaurant reviewer for the International Herald Tribune, hosts a weeklong cooking class in Paris. Sessions include lunch, instruction, tastings, and visits to bakers, cheese shops, and wine shops. Tuition is ,000.
Afternoon classes teaching three-course menus, as well as six-week and three-month diploma courses, are offered at this small private school in business since 1975. A series of five classes is 3,500 francs (0).

Unbeknownst to many, the famous Ritz hotel also runs a cooking school. Tuitions range from 275 francs () for an afternoon demo to 34,400 francs (,914) for a six-week basic course. The school has just started to offer one-day "Cooking for Fitness" workshops for 800 francs (4).
