Musée du Moyen-Age (Thermes de Cluny) Thermes de Cluny, 6, pl. Paul-Painlevé 75005, PARIS metros: Cluny-La Sorbonne 01 53 73 78 00 Cluny is one of the more interesting architectural combinations in Paris: a 15th century palace built on the ruins of 3rd century Roman baths set in the midst of everyday bustling Paris. The museum has lots of objets d´art, for those who like gilded altarpieces and crowns, but it´s well worth visiting for the series of six world-famous Unicorn tapestries, which hang in a specially designed circular room. Abutting the Gothic-style building are the Roman baths. The frigidarium, the best preserved of the three, remains cool, even during the Paris summers. In the King´s Gallery heads were lopped off the figures lining the facade of nearby Notre-Dame Cathedral during the Revolution. You can picnic in the small square behind Cluny facing the Sorbonne.
